Terms

By using mapscores.com, its reports or its browser extension, you agree to these terms.

General information, not advice

MapScores grades neighbourhoods using public data. It is not an appraisal, a home inspection, or real estate, legal, financial, insurance, safety or engineering advice. Don't rely on it alone to buy, sell, rent, build or move. Check what matters to you with the right professional or authority.

Grades are our judgment

The data comes from public sources, but which categories we use and how much each one counts are our own choices. Other reasonable methods would give different grades. A grade describes an area, never a particular home, person, school or business.

Data can be wrong or out of date

Our sources can contain errors, gaps and old information, and we can make mistakes too. In particular:

Use it fairly

Don't use MapScores to discriminate against anyone on grounds protected by human rights law, including in selling or renting housing. Demographic figures are census facts about areas, not a judgment of the people who live there. Don't overload the service, scrape it in bulk, or use the report email to send messages to people who haven't asked for them.

Sources and other sites

Each city's Sources & method page lists its data sources and their licences. The original data remains subject to those licences, and those bodies don't endorse MapScores. The extension works on realtor.ca and rew.ca but MapScores isn't affiliated with or endorsed by those sites or their owners. Their names and trademarks belong to their owners.

No warranty and limits on liability

MapScores is free and is provided "as is", without warranties of accuracy or availability. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for decisions made using it or for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to CA$100. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

Corrections, law and contact

See something wrong, or want it removed? Write to admin@mapscores.com and we will look into it. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. If we change them, the date above will change.
